Sri Lanka is a small island with an extraordinary range of experiences — ancient cities, tea-country bungalows, wildlife parks, and some of the Indian Ocean's most beautiful coastline. A luxury private tour is the only way to experience it all, at your own pace, without compromise.

At Rediscover Journeys, we've been crafting bespoke Sri Lanka travel since 2009. Every journey is designed from scratch around your interests, your pace and your travel dates — whether you have seven days or three weeks, whether you want to focus on wildlife, wellness or colonial heritage.

You travel with a dedicated English-speaking chauffeur-guide and a luxury air-conditioned vehicle throughout. You stay in hand-picked five-star and boutique properties — from Amangalla and Ceylon Tea Trails to Wild Coast Tented Lodge and Cape Weligama. And everything — tickets, transfers, reservations, restaurants — is handled before you arrive.

Why choose a luxury private tour?

  • Your pace, your interests. No fixed itineraries, no shared vehicles, no group departures.
  • A private chauffeur-guide throughout. An SLTDA-licensed local expert who knows the island intimately.
  • Hand-picked luxury stays. Small boutique hotels, tea bungalows and tented camps — the finest in Sri Lanka.
  • Everything arranged. Cultural site tickets, restaurant reservations, transfers — all pre-booked.
  • 24/7 in-country support. A dedicated travel designer and local support team throughout your journey.

Why we recommend a minimum two-night stay

Sri Lanka's finest boutique properties are small and experiential — a restored tea planter's bungalow, a clifftop villa with six suites, a tented camp on the edge of a national park. A single night does not do them justice. A minimum two-night stay at each property allows you to settle in, enjoy the surroundings at a relaxed pace, and avoid the fatigue of single-night hops. Every Rediscover Journeys itinerary is designed around this principle.

Luxury private tours — FAQs.

Common questions about our bespoke private journeys.

A luxury private tour is entirely yours — no fixed departures, no shared vehicles and no set itineraries. You travel with a dedicated chauffeur-guide, stay in hand-picked boutique and five-star properties, and every experience is shaped around your pace and interests.
Most guests find 10–14 days ideal to comfortably cover the Cultural Triangle, tea country and southern coast. Shorter 7–8 day journeys focus on one or two regions. Every itinerary is tailored around your available time.
We recommend a minimum two-night stay at each hotel. Sri Lanka's finest boutique properties are small and experiential — two nights allows you to settle in, enjoy the surroundings at a relaxed pace, and avoid the fatigue of single-night hops.
Yes. Every luxury private tour includes a dedicated English-speaking chauffeur-guide with a modern air-conditioned vehicle throughout your journey. All guides are SLTDA-licensed and personally vetted by our team.
Yes — all Cultural Triangle site tickets (Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura, Dambulla and more) are arranged in advance and included in your itinerary.
Absolutely. Whether you love wildlife photography, tea and cuisine, wellness and Ayurveda, colonial heritage, or simply slow travel on the quieter southern coast — we design around you.
Sri Lanka can be visited year-round. December to March is ideal for the southern and western coasts; May to September favours the east coast and hill country. Your travel designer will recommend the best regions for your dates.
For peak season (December–March) we recommend booking 4–6 months in advance, as the finest boutique hotels are small and book out early. Off-season travel can often be arranged with 4–8 weeks notice.
